product description
Unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2026, the green ombré Datejust represents one of the most anticipated dial releases Rolex has produced in years — the first ombré execution the manufacture has rendered entirely in lacquer. Green has long held particular significance for Rolex, the color invoked for anniversary models including the GMT-Master II 50th and Submariner 50th, and its application to one of watchmaking’s most foundational references — the original 1945 Datejust, the first self-winding waterproof chronometer to display the date — has generated immediate collector enthusiasm. Reference 126200 stands as the most quietly refined of the green ombré variants, the stainless steel-on-Oyster execution that lets the dial speak as the singular focus.
The 36mm Oystersteel case carries a smooth domed bezel and Twinlock screw-down crown. The green lacquer dial is created through a process unique to this generation — green lacquer applied to the base plate, then black lacquer sprayed in concentric motions toward the edges to produce a gradient transitioning from vivid green at the center to shadowy near-black at the perimeter, accented by white gold baton markers with Chromalight luminescence. The in-house automatic Caliber 3235 delivers a 70-hour power reserve, completed by an Oystersteel Oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp and Easylink extension.
